Pigeon Bush

Located roughly half-way between Featherston and Cross Creek, Pigeon Bush was little more than a flag station on the Wairarapa line. Originally shown as 'Lucena's' on plans, it was located on land originally owned by a Mr Lucena. A road deviation was undertaken to provide space for the yard, a situation that has reverted to its original state since closure of the line. Little evidence of the station remains today.

Trains were banked on occasion for the climb from Pigeon Bush to Cross Creek, Fell engines occasionally used to assist train engines until about 1943.
